    We know plenty of you thanked Aerak and I, but we felt it would be wrong for us not to say our own gracious words. So…

    Thank you. Thank you all. Thank you ever so much! The picnic was the first we ran, and it was a blast!

    Some special thanks needs to go to the artists who spent their time and provided their talent to improve our fair event. If you see Farellemoon, Keradin, Tanner, Zenfox and Voyage give them a warm thank you for their amazing work for us behind the scenes and at the picnic.

    We also can’t ignore the staff that helped us bring the picnic to life. Those people include Ridayah, Tekuryuu, Kellic, Kurst and the many more that stopped by to lend a paw. Without you, things would not have been the same.

    And we can’t forget Jupiter for the special effects! He really pulled out all the stops to show his… erm… support by “Hailing” Ceasar. (Blame the staff writer for that one) *crickets crickets* Anyway…

    On Wednesday, May 30th at 7:00PM we will be posting a post-picnic meeting at Procyon(Flip)’s house for those wishing to provide input. We will be discussing the good, the bad, and ideas to help us continue to improve our community picnics. Snacks are encouraged, but not necessary. Coming on August 3,4 2012 - Cats Day - a 2 day hotel event. Panels, Gaming, Fursuiting, and more all the fun you can cram into a hotel. And you can pre-register online and offline at the meet or picnic.

While I’m sure we all could wish we could see some chariot racing, gladiatorial lion battling and other cool no hold bars Roman theme action at MNFurs Spring Picnic we can't because of insurance and those pesky laws about lions out in public.

Instead at this year’s spring picnic there is going to be events like Costume Contest, Grape Stuffing Contest, and Build Rome in a Day.

MNFurs is proud to announce Cat Days. It will be held on August 4th from 1:00pm to 1:00am with an 18+ pre-event on August 3rd from 5:00pm to Midnight. It will be located at the Crown Plaza Minneapolis Airport by the Mall of America.

Pre-registration will be price will be $15 for Saturday, or $25 for Friday & Saturday. Baring any technical issues, and you all know how hard it is for us pawed creatures not to have technical issues, we’ll have an online registration and payment system before the next meet for those in our community that can’t made it to our bi-weekly meets.

Friday night we have a social area for artists and gamers as well as a ConSuite area for a quieter place to have conversations. Since this is an 18+ event we’re allowed to have artwork that is greater than PG-13. Your host for this event will be our always gracious Kellic.

Saturday is an open to all ages event with a fursuit and general panel tracks, as well as a social/gaming/artists space, consuite, and a fursuit lounge. We ask that artists keep their works PG-13 during this event as minors will be around. Your host for this day will be Mouring who also be one of your photographers. Oh, wait did we forget that in our list of activities? That must have slipped our minds with all the preparation work.

Coming May 19th, there will be a migration to Blackhawk Park in Eagan for the MNFurs Spring 2012 Picnic.

This year's theme will be "When in Rome." Supporting this event will be games, contests and a toga (Costume) contest.

January 7th bi-weekly meet at Perkins is going to be a little bit different this year. Starting at 6PM the MNFurs steering group will be holding a discussion about upcoming events in 2012. We'll do a quick introduction of the major events we're planning, and then we'll make ourselves available for discussion on those topics or anything else about MNFurs steering group.

Because of the holiday season the December 24th bi-weekly meet is cancelled. The next official bi-weekly meet will be at Perkins on January the 7th 2012.

Also the deadline for registration for the 2012 Saint Paul Winter Carnival Parade is fast approaching.

While the parade is on January 28th if you want to be in the parade the deadline for registration is December 28th, 2011

Anyone can participate in the parade and any attire is welcome - ears/tails, full suit, partial or no suit - all is required is you to be registered by December 28th, 2011
